Indonesia 2001

From October 1st to the 22nd we were on tour through Indonesia. We entered the dive boat "Empress" at Bali and made a long trip via Lombok, Sumbawa, several Archipelagos south of Celebes down to Patar, Alor, Wetar and Moa, finally heading south to Darwin, Australia. We had a great time on board of the comfortable Empress run by Vidar and Alice Skoglie. More than thirty different dive sites were visited and three to four dives were made every day (and night). Some of the team of twelve passionate divers were mainly interested in photography, just five of us were hunting for shells. Here is a set of pictures from the trip. A gallery of the shells we have found (plus some interesting offers for you) will follow in the coming days.

we'll be back

Jana and I wish to thank Vidar, Alice and Adam for keeping ourselves and the Empress running, the shell divers Hugh, Simone and Brian for the fruitful cooperation and pleasant competition, Anne and Wayne for good mood and the wake-up call "dive, dive, dive" as early as 6 in the morning, Brad (gaaaak!), Daniel and Owen for the fabulous time and for just being great guys.

Special thanks to the bends, the Indonesian White Pointer- colony, Capt. Ali Mustafa and his furious pirate crew and the bad weather,
all of whom contributed considerably to the success of our trip by kindly staying away.
